The Greater Richmond Association for Volunteer Administrator (GRAVA) is a membership organization devoted to providing educational opportunities for, promoting the professionalism of, and strengthening the leadership of volunteer organizations and programs in the Great Richmond metropolitan area.
Please join us as we network and learn together on a monthly basis; pursue excellence in our work through professional development opportunities; and Promote our profession.
The membership year is September 1 through August 31.
Annual dues are $50 a year and include the following benefits:
- Breakfast Workshops and Breakfast Roundtables: Programming through the remainder of this programming year will be hosted on Zoom (a new year starts in September 2021).
- Discounted Admission to GRAVA’s Professional Development Conference
- Scholarships: GRAVA members are eligible to apply for a scholarship to be used for professional development, trainings, classes, certifications and educational materials.
- Membership Directory: Members have access to a GRAVA member directory to facilitate communication and partnerships.
- GRAVA’s Buddy System is a program which works to pair relatively new members to the profession with more experienced practitioners for regular problem solving sessions.

- Certification in Volunteer Administration: Assistance and support in becoming Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA)
- GRAVA Book Club: Members can participate in monthly discussions on books related to the field of volunteerism.
- Leadership Opportunities: GRAVA offers members opportunities to serve on committees, serve on the Executive Board and to serve as program presenters.
- Volunteer Engagement Professional of the Year: GRAVA members are eligible to receive this award at our annual professional development conference.
